The Idea

Its simple! Take a chair that has been abandoned, ignored, or abused and give it some love. I call it re-FAB-ilitation. now take said fabulous chair and place it at a bus stop that has no seating.

The Specifics

I would use the funds to do one massive chair bombing of Orlando Florida. The chairs are free as each and every one is rescued from the side of the road or donated by friends and neighbors, so all of the money would go towards paint, tape, and re-FAB-ilitation materials. Experience shows that mass chair bombing is more successful than periodic placing of one or two at a time.

What a fabulous idea! Orlando is a humid sweat box of suburban sprawl which is made worse for those reliant on the famously unreliable public transit system. Just having a nice chair to sit in can completely turn someone's spirit around and possibly inspire a good deed paid forward. Kudos!

For weeks, I drove down the street where these chairs were. I felt such joy in seeing that someone took the time and energy to care about people who rode the bus-it brought me to tears. Most bus stops have no covers over them, much less places to sit. Please vote for this amazing idea. Thank you, Brendan!!

Crossing the street in Orlando is deadly business. If keeping people safe and comfortable at the bus stop saves even one person from becoming another pedestrian death statistic, it's well worth it.

Standing in the FL heat puts mass transit users at serious risk of heat stroke. The SIT Project not only beautifies the city - it also provides preventative medicine!
