The Idea

The Echo Park Time Bank is a mutual credit system where members trade services with each other. We have regular events to help build relationships and trust in the community. The events are often food focused and we do our best to be green. We could use a shared, zero waste catering kit.

The Specifics

The Time Bank zero waste catering kit will be rented out to members for Time Dollars so that they can have sustainable, waste free events. It can also be used for our monthly potlucks and gatherings. The kit may also be rented out to non-members for cash as a fundraiser for the Echo Park Time Bank. Our Time Bank currently has 500 members who live in 12 different neighborhoods in Los Angeles. They are committed to resource sharing and conscious consumption. This catering kit will ensure that our community building events will not contribute to the landfill.

The GOOD Maker Funds will be used to purchase the following, 100 dinner plates, 100 forks knives and spoons, 100 cloth napkins, 100 cups, 100 mugs, bins for storage and for washing.
