Mix & Match: a social mixer for apparel exchange

The Idea

Mix&Match is a reoccurring pop-up clothing exchange event where participants can network and mingle while swapping apparel in happy hour fashion. Sip your cocktail, mingle with friends, and upcycle your garments!

The Specifics

This project began at the Rhode Island School of Design, and due to its overwhelming success, we want to bring it to you! Now based in New York City, we are looking for funding to promote and host upcoming events with ambitions to expand to different cities. These organized events will be hosted during happy hour at local venues (bars, restaurants, cafes). The pop-up “swapshop” will function on the basis of one-to-one garment exchanges. Exchanging apparel reduces our impact on the environment (and our wallets!). By hosting initial events, we can build the social capital among participants to make this ongoing and sustainable.
